Great Ches. Balloon Fest. "Burner Bake-Off"

A balloon gondola will be placed in the two parking spaces in front of Scossa Restaurant on Washington Street at 5 p.m. Contestants will individually step up to the top of the balloon burner holding a frying pan with a desert recipe pre-pared and heat it over the 15 million BTU balloon flame. After one or two short blasts the chef will climb down and serve it to the judges sitting at a table.  The event will commence at 5 p.m. with WCEI's Matt Spence as emcee.  Contestants will be graded on a point basis from 1 for awful to 10 for fantastic.

Each chef will take no more than 5 minutes total. Each Chef will pre-prepare an item (please minimize juices or fluids). The item must be fully cooked. It will be “warmed” by a blast or two of fire from the hot air balloon burner. The chef will need to bring a frying pan, plates, napkin and silverware and person to present to the judges.

Judges scores will be confidential and turned over to Chief Judge who will announce the runner up and winner. The winner will be presented the trophy by Wayne Dyott, Chairman of the event.
