Maryland Insurance Administration- Informative Presentation

The Maryland Insurance Administration will be onsite for an informative presentation and community outreach program at the Grasonville Senior Center on Wednesday, June 17th at 11 am. Insurance 101 will cover the basics of what this state agency does, as well as offer information on auto, homeowner, renters, life, annuities and Medicare. Participants are encouraged to bring any Insurance related questions. Light refreshments will be served. Advance registration is suggested. Call for more information at 410-827-6010. Boater Safety Certificate

Maryland DNR- approved Boater Safety courses are taking place at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum on June 10-11, July 15-16 and August 12-13. All ages can participate, with preregistration needed. The two evening courses take place from 6-10 pm, with participants able to receive a Maryland Boating Safety Education Certificate, which is required for anyone born on or after July 1, 1972, and who operates a numbered or documented vessel on Maryland waters. St. Luke's 26th Annual Strawberry Festival and Craft Show

Celebrate the Eastern Shore strawberry harvest with over 50 artisans displaying quality crafts of all kinds and strawberries to eat and take home. Join St. Luke's United Methodist's 26th Annual Strawberry Festival and Craft Show at St. Luke's Church, 304 Talbot Street, St. Michaels, Saturday June 6th, from 10 am to 5 pm. Strong Women in Business Luncheon

MCE Women's Business Center is holding it's Strong Women in Business Monthly Networking Luncheon on Wednesday, June 3rd from noon to 1:15 at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce at 144 E. Main Street in Salisbury. Luncheons are held the first Wednesday of every month and attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other business women and gain insight on creating a sustainable business. Library Card Design Contest

Artists of all ages are invited to submit their designs for the Caroline County Public Library's two new library cards, one for adults and one for children. Entry forms, templates and guidelines are available at any Caroline County Public Library Location, on their website, carolib.org, and through Caroline County Public Schools and Caroline County Recreation and Parks. St. Michael's Brewfest

The st. Michaels Brewfest is set to take on Saturday, May 30th from 12 to 5 pm. The Afternoon Book Club

A new book club will be starting at the Queen Anne's County Library in May. Memorial Day Gospel Concert

A Memorial Day Gospel Concert will be held on Monday, May 25th at 6 pm at the Federalsburg Marina Park Pavilion in Federalsburg. Chester River Shrine Club Clinic

The Chester River Shrine Club will host a free clinic for treatment at Shriners Hospital. The clinic will be held to identify children in the area who may benefit from treatment of problems such as club foot, scoliosis, cleft lip or palate, hand or back problems, bowed legs, dislocated hips, missing arms and other kinds of orthopedic problems. The free clinic will be held on Saturday, May 23rd from 10 am to 1 pm at the Temple Masonic Lodge 128 at 112 Market Street in Denton. Beckwith United Methodist Church Strawberry Festival at Neck District Fire House, Route 343, Hudson, 11 miles west of Cambridge on Saturday, May 23rd. Family Game Night at the Library

Revisit games, discover new ones, and meet other families who enjoy board games too. Games provided by the library include Chess, Checkers, Parcheesi, Yahtzee, Hi Ho Cherry-O, Scrabble and more! Archery Program

Archery instruction is being offered for adults, high school students and youths at the Izaak Walton's property in Trappe, Bolingbroke Park. The local Mid-Shore Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America will provide experienced and qualified instructors, all members of the Maryland Bow Hunters Association. Each class will consist of two sessions of 1 1/2 to 2 hours each. Adult and high schoool student classes will be held on Tuesday May 5th and 12th, and May 19th and 26th. Classes for youth grades 4-8, will be held on Thursdays, May 7th and 14th, and June 11th and 18th. Topics will include safety, proper shooting form, practice rounds of shooting, scored competitions, and more. 

High School students and youths will be asked to pay $20 at registration but will receive a $10 rebate if they attend both sessions. Any hardship situations will be individually reviewed and considered. Adults will be asked to pay $20 and classes are limited to 8 students each.
